England won the 2009 Ashes – but Old Trafford cricket ground did not host an Ashes Test Match this year… for only the third time in 150 years.
Without major redevelopment of the ground, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed there will be no more Ashes or any other Test Match cricket at our famous ground.
The Old Trafford Partnership (Lancashire County Cricket Club, Tesco and Ask Developments) has submitted a planning application to Trafford Council to redevelop Old Trafford cricket ground and the surrounding area.
The £47m development would see Old Trafford become one of the best cricket arenas in the world, and would secure the future of International Cricket in the North West.

This is a one-off opportunity – without the development, Old Trafford and the North West will not host an Ashes test match again.
